  • If you’re asking this question, there’s a good chance therapy could be helpful. You don’t need to be in crisis to benefit from support. Therapy can help if you’re feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, burned out, or just not like yourself. It can also be a space to process past experiences, navigate relationship patterns, or explore big life decisions.

Some people come to therapy with a clear issue to work on—others just know something feels off and want help sorting through it. Both are valid. If you’re feeling curious about therapy, trust that instinct. We’re here when you’re ready.

  • Your first session is all about starting to build a connection. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you in, what you’re hoping to get out of therapy, and what’s been going on in your life—past and present—that might be shaping how you’re feeling now.

Because we want to understand you fully, we are required to gather a full history—your mental health, medical background, family dynamics, and any significant life events. We know that can feel like a lot, especially in a first meeting, so we’ll move at your pace. You’re always welcome to pause, ask questions, or let us know if something feels uncomfortable.

There’s no pressure to “get it all out” right away. This is the start of a relationship built on trust, and we’re here to make sure you feel safe and supported every step of the way.

  • After the first session, our focus shifts toward your goals and what’s coming up for you. We’ll continue getting to know you, while also starting to explore patterns, build insight, and identify strategies that feel right for you.

Some sessions might feel more structured—like working through specific challenges or learning new skills. Others may feel more open-ended, giving you space to reflect, process, or just talk things through. Either way, this is your time, and we’ll shape the work together based on what you need.

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. We’ll check in regularly to make sure it feels helpful, and adjust as we go.

  • Yes—and in many ways, intern therapists are some of the most highly prepared and deeply engaged clinicians you can work with.

Interns are graduate-level students in the final stages of their clinical training. They’ve already completed rigorous academic coursework and are now practicing under close supervision as part of their master’s program. At Nesting Space Therapy, our interns are carefully selected and supported through weekly supervision with experienced, licensed therapists who review their work, offer feedback, and help guide your care.

In fact, because they’re actively engaged in training, interns often bring the most current research, theory, and techniques into their work. They’re also incredibly thoughtful, attentive, and committed—many clients find that their intern therapist is one of the most dedicated clinicians they’ve ever worked with.

Interns provide meaningful, high-quality care—and at Nesting Space Therapy, they’re supported every step of the way through intentional supervision, ongoing training, and a team committed to clinical excellence.

  • That’s completely okay. The therapeutic relationship is one of the most important parts of the process, and not every match will feel right—and that’s not a failure on anyone’s part.

If something isn’t clicking, we want to know. You can bring it up with your therapist directly, or reach out to us and we’ll help you find someone who might be a better fit. Our goal is for you to feel supported, safe, and truly seen in therapy—and we’ll do everything we can to help make that happen.
